I'm a genomics researcher by training, now taking a detour into the world of policy. I wear many hats — all in an effort to help make a difference, and build an inclusive and engaging science culture through outreach, communication and policy.
Feel free to reach out (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you want to chat, collaborate or extend an invitation!
In 2024, my and Hajer Nakua’s first children's picture book – Khadija and The Elephant Toothpaste Experiment – will be published by Second Story Press.
Previously, I completed a Master of Science ('20) at the University of Toronto. I've written about science for various media outlets, and spoken about different aspects of my journey into science for 50+ talks. I co-founded the Toronto Science Policy Network, lead Wikipedia Edit-A-Thons to create pages about under-represented scientists, and built 500 Women Scientists' Fix The Gap honoraria database.
